WUPPERTHAL STERILIZATION PROJECT

KHAYELITSHA STERILIZATION PROJECT -

KLAPMUTS STERILIZATION PROJECT - 20 FEB - 20 APRIL 2013

In February-April 2013, EnviroVet CVC sterilized 1017 animals in the community of Klapmuts. This represented in excess of 94% of dogs and cats. The community was exceptionally positive about the project and with the word spreading throughout the community through many helpers, particularly children. Welfare organizations in neighbouring Stellenbosch and Franschhoek are committing to take care of the area's ongoing veterinary needs into the future by sending a mobile clinic to Klapmuts every two weeks.

The Klapmuts Project was a roll-out of the Kayamandi Pilot Project, which was partially funded by the Western Cape Department of Agriculture
.

KAYAMANDI STERILIZATION PROJECT - 6 SEP-14 DEC 2012

This ground breaking mass sterilization  project, proposed and managed by Dr Roos of EnviroVet CVC involved the sourcing, treatment, and sterilization of in excess of 85% of dogs and 89% of cats in the township of Stellenbosch with the co-operation of all the local private veterinarians, numerous CVCs (community veterinary clinics) and welfare veterinarians. There was a strong component of owner and community education.

The project was run as a research project with full data recorded. It was funded by the Western Cape Provincial Government (Department of Agriculture), the Stellenbosch municipality and numerous corporate and private donors.
